I was pulling away from my work parking lot the other day, and X band went crazy — like REALLY crazy. I silenced it and didn't think too much about it. However, a little while down the road, it went off again, crazy like. It continued to emit what I would consider “false” alerts, on-and-off for several miles.
I eventually just turned off X-band. It seems to be doing fine now in regards to X-band. Is there really any risk of getting nabbed with X-band in Texas, anyway?
Also, my 995 now frequently misses the “Your Speed…” radar signs in Lakeway, where i live. It used to go off way around the corner. Now it usually doesn't. Only occasionally. /the signs are K-band.
Do radar detectors get flaky like this? With just one band (or two) at a time?
